Last Thursday, August 21st, the Elementary School version of the Spelling Bee Contest was held as part of the Calasanz Feast celebration.
In it, six students from each level, from 1st to 5th grade, demonstrated their skills in spelling different words to the best of their knowledge. These six students were the winners in each level, after the elimination rounds.
Students were previously given a list of words to practise, which were classified into three categories: easy, intermediate, and difficult, according to their level of the foreign language acquisition process and life cycle.
Finally, the first-place winners at each level were:
1st Grade: Ana Sofia Jiménez Medrano
2nd Grade: Isaac Claro Serrada
3rd Grade: Sofía Roa Laguado
4th Grade: Micaela Quintero Copete
5th Grade: Elisa Salas Moreno
The second-place winners were:
1st Grade: Pablo Gael Ibarra Fuentes
2nd Grade: Julia Ramírez Almanza
3rd Grade: Ana Sofia Ortiz Chávez
4th Grade: Martin Rosero López
5th Grade: David Carrillo Cumbe
