Easter is a holiday that commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ. In different countries, the Easter celebration is very important both from a religious and a more cultural perspective. Popular traditions include a visit from the Easter Bunny, a popular symbol of spring who brings eggs that symbolize new life.
Calasanz School joins forces to celebrate the Easter holiday.
Our preschool students had a lovely Easter Egg Hunt at school. It was a fun and exciting activity where they searched for Easter eggs and chocolates all around the playground. The kids were very happy, helping each other and laughing a lot. It was a sweet moment they truly enjoyed and will always remember.
On the other hand, last Thursday April 24th, the 1st grade students had the wonderful chance to participate in three different activities to celebrate Easter time.
The first activity took place in their classroom, and it had to do with colouring and decorating an Easter egg that was given to each student. The students coloured and decorated their Easter Egg happily. After that, the students continued with the second activity: Pin the tail on the bunny. For this activity, each student came up to the board with his/her eyes covered close to a bunny’s poster and the teacher gave him/ her a bunny’s tail for him/ her place in its right place. The students laughed and really had a good time. At the end, we went out of the classroom to perform our last activity which was Egg and Spoon Relay. For this, the students were placed in two queues: one for girls and one for boys. Each student held a plastic spoon in their mouth with a plastic egg. They had to walk without dropping the egg down the ground. The group of students who gathered more eggs, won. The most fantastic fact about these activities was that all the students had an amazing time while they were learning.
Also, in 2nd grade, a charming activity was held where basic vocabulary was shared. Using an online roulette wheel, students went out in front of everyone to spin the wheel to receive a prize, name and spell the vocabulary word, and mime their body language.
Finally, in 6th grade, all students wore bunny ears to participate in the hop-bunny-hop game. Each group would then pass a member, and upon hearing the definition given by the English teacher, the students would hop on sackcloth to the poster of the corresponding vocabulary word.
It was a great celebration!
